[ Going on an impromptu date wasn't exactly something that Rin had planned - and more importantly, she wasn't exactly a huge fan of the whole 'game' thing anyway, but might as well kill some time. It's not as if anything bad could possibly happen in a science lab besides potentially blowing things up, but thankfully she's well versed in her chemicals to avoid doing. . . that.

Nevertheless, she decides to start off the conversation with: ]

You don't happen to want to make something while we're in here, would you?

Hmm... magician's the wrong word for it. Magicians can create miracles. I can't do anything like that. The proper term is a magus, actually.

Well, it all seems pretty miraculous to me! But if a magus and a magician are different... what does a magus do?

[tsunderine]

Basically we practice magecraft -- in short terms, it's magical science, opposed to magicians, who can create miracles that are impossible to be recreated with any type of science.

Let's see... a good example would be that magicians can do things like travel through time, or go to parallel worlds. This sword here actually can access parallel worlds using the Second Magic, but that doesn't make me a magician, since I wasn't the one who produced this sword. Although it does get me close. I'm just a poor imitator of the Second Magic. I specialize in placing power in gems in particular and utilizing them in battle, but to be more specific, I can access any of the spells written in my Magic Crest.

[ She'll pulls her left sleeve and her arm starts to glow. Look, it's 'trying to impress Sayori' so. Here we go. ]

[Sayori is impressed, 10/10, just enough water.

Forget colorful liquid, this is something worthy of poetic inspiration. She practically sparkles at the display.]

Rin, that's amazing! You're amazing! [She leans close, scrutinizing the arm with fascination.]

Does it hurt? Can I touch it?

Ah...

[ She's kind of embarrassed now that someone's actually seeing it now. ]

It doesn't hurt now, but every now and again it does... but you probably shouldn't touch it.

[ Just going to pull her sleeve back down. ] Anyway, all the spells are written on there, and I can conjure anything on that without having to chant a long spell.

Ah...

[In hindsight she probably shouldn't have let her enthusiasm get the best of her. Sayori pulls back, looking a bit stricken]

Sorry, I... I hope I didn't make you feel bad or anything. [She tries another smile.] But you're still super amazing! Um, what kind of stuff can you conjure? But don't worry about it if it hurts or anything!

No, don't worry about it. I'm not used to showing this off, not to mention that it's something I'm rather used to. Well, basically I can fire off gandr shots without an incantation--

[ She uses her right arm to hold onto her left as she shows Sayori an example, but she doesn't fire it off. ]

There's other things such as strengthening my body that does require incantations, though. That includes simple things like making the body lighter or making it stronger.

Ehehe, well, we don't have anything like this where I'm from, so I think everything you do is cool! Like, I can't do anything like making my body light and strong, but it's simple to you...

[She rocks on her feet, swaying back and forth]

I wish I could show you something cool, too... but all I can do is poetry. [And maybe not even that well, when compared to the raw talent of Natsuki and the elegant experience of Monika and Yuri.]

You can do poetry? I think that's pretty amazing, if you enjoy doing that. After all, doing something that you enjoy is the most important thing.
